How to Do Cycle Count

Inventory cycle count is a periodic auditing process where a subset of inventory is counted and verified against records to ensure accuracy, without interrupting daily operations. It helps identify discrepancies and maintain up-to-date stock levels.
This article introduces how to create and execute cycle count and other related operations.

Initial a Cycle Count

  1. Navigate to Inventory Module > Cycle Count > Count Record List, it display the all count records. If it’s different to find out the record manually, please apply the filtering and enter the specific fields for quick search.

  2. Click Create Count Record at the top right corner. Cycle1

  3. Select the Location or Product that need to be counted. Choose the Customer and fill out the other parameters as needed, then click Search to match the corresponding data.

  4. Select the target location which needs to be counted then setup the type of count and assign the assignee to execute the task. There are two types for counting: manual and android.
    Manual
    It is for Printing and counting manually.
    Android
    It is for counting with the WMS App’s assigned count feature.
    5.Click Initiate Count to start the count immediately, or click Schedule Count to save the count for later.

After creating successfully, it will prompt a popup window to show the success with the Task ID. Please click OK button to close the pop-up.

How to Execute Cycle Count Task

As a warehouse worker, you will receive a cycle count task on your WMS App. This section introduces how to execute cycle count task on your mobile app.

  1. Go to WMS app > Tasks > Cycle Count Task > New, tap the task and then tap Start Cycle Count to start the task.

  2. Please ensure that you are on the Work page. If the location is empty, just check Empty Location option.

  3. If the location is not empty, please enter or scan Location, Pallet and Product. Input the product quantity and setup the UOM.

  4. Tap SUBMIT to complete the task. Cycle4

  5. Go back to the task homepage and tap CLOSE THIS TASK to close it.

Recount Task

If there is a discrepancy is found, it supports to do a recount task to recount the products. This section introduces the related configurations and operations.

Configuration

WMS supports to generate a recount task for cycle count automatically, if you want to use this feature, please follow the path to setup.

  1. Go to Setting(Foundation Data) Module > Organization, select the target user and click Edit button to modify parameters. Cycle5

  2. Click Advanced Mode on the top right corner, then go to Customer > Inventory, disable Disable Re-count for Cycle Count.

  3. Click Update to save the data updating. Cycle6

Scenarios

A. If customer enable Disable Re-count for Cycle Count, and the products don’t require Lot# and contain multiple titles, it will not automatically generate a recount task.
B. If customer disable Disable Re-count for Cycle Count, or products have Lot# or have multiple titles, it will automatically generate a recount task. Please go to Inventory Module > Cycle Count > Recount Task, select the target task then assign an assignee to recount before write off.
