MCP Server Marketplace

The Item MCP Marketplace is a centralized hub designed to empower your AI agents with specialized capabilities. It allows you to browse, preview, and install MCP servers that connect your AI tools to external systems, data sources, and internal Item applications.

Whether you need to integrate with QuickBooks, manage files via GitHub, or automate browser tasks, the Marketplace provides a streamlined one-click installation experience for popular MCP clients like Cursor, Cherry Studio, and Kiro.

Marketplace Overview

The Marketplace is divided into two primary sections to help you find trusted and community-driven tools:

  • Official MCP Servers: These are verified servers provided and maintained directly by Item. They offer high reliability and deep integration with the Item ecosystem or popular e-commerce platforms.
  • Community MCP Servers: This section hosts a library of open-source servers contributed by developers worldwide.

Browsing and Filtering

To locate the right tool for your agent, use the search and filter bar at the top of the Marketplace:

  • Search: Type keywords to find specific servers.
  • Categories: Filter servers by business function, including:
    • Development Tools
    • Web & Browser Automation
    • Data & File Systems
    • AI & Specialized Tools
    • Productivity & Communication
    • Productivity & Project Management
    • Knowledge Base

Configure MCP Connection

For servers that require authentication (like QuickBooks or Shopify), you must configure a connection before the tools can access your data.

  1. Click + Create New MCP Connection in the bottom-left panel.
  2. In the Add New Connector popup, configure the following:
  • Connector Name: Give your connection a unique name.
  • Merchant: Select the merchant environment (e.g., test-quick).
  • Integration: Select the specific integration type.
  • Authentication Type: Choose the required auth method (e.g., OAuth V2 Code).
  • Verification: Enter your credentials (such as an email address) and click Go to verify to complete the OAuth flow.
  1. Click Test Connection to ensure validity, then click Submit.

Once configured, your new connection will be listed under Select Channel, allowing you to switch between different accounts or environments easily.

Managing Your Connections

Once you have set up your credentials, you must tell the MCP server which specific account it should talk to.

The Select Channel Dropdown

In the MCP Configuration panel on the left, you will see a dropdown menu labeled Select Channel.

Select ChannelDescription
What it isThis is a list of all your Connected MCP Servers (your authorized accounts).
How to use itEven if you have only one MCP Server connected (e.g., QuickBooks), you must select it from this list to activate the server.
Why the URL changesEvery time you select a different Connection, a new, secure JSON Configuration URL is generated. This URL contains the specific key for that account.

Note: If you switch connections in this list, you must copy the new URL and update it in your AI client (Cursor, Kiro, etc.) to ensure the agent is looking at the correct data.

Tool Testing

To verify its functionality before installing a server to your MCP clients, click on any server card (e.g., QuickBooks) to open the detailed Server Configuration page.

  • Run Tools: Select a tool (e.g., query-invoices, get-invoice) from the list.
  • Parameters: Configure the necessary parameters and click Run Tool to see the live JSON response.
  • Validation: Ensure the server returns the expected data structure before integrating it into your workflow.
