OMS V3.0
Overview

Overview

Item OMS is designed for e-commerce, logistics, warehouse, and supply chain operations to manage multi-channel order lifecycle within the Item ecosystem. It consolidates sales, purchasing, inventory, and logistics data to provide unified fulfillment management.

It supports a wide range of business functions, including:

  • Multi-channel order management (via API or EDI integrations)
  • Order routing and fulfillment planning
  • Purchase and procurement management
  • Inventory synchronization across platforms
  • Shipment execution and tracking
  • Data mapping and configuration for system-level control

Role in the Item Ecosystem

OMS acts as the core operational layer within the Item ecosystem, connecting upstream integration data from Item DI with downstream execution in Item WMS.

LayerSystemDescription
Upstream (DI)Data IntegrationReceives and consolidates sales orders, customer information, and product data from multiple sales channels.
Core (OMS)Order ManagementProcesses, routes, and manages sales and purchase orders, applying business rules and fulfillment logic.
Downstream (WMS)Warehouse ExecutionExecutes order fulfillment through picking, packing, and shipping, then returns status updates to OMS.

This layered flow enables OMS to serve as the command center for order operations, ensuring accurate data transfer and status synchronization across all systems.

Role-Based Workflows

OMS-V3 organizes its operations into three primary workflow categories based on business roles and responsibilities. Each workflow is configurable and can be customized to meet different business requirements.

Workflow A: Sales Order Fulfillment Flow

Manages the end-to-end process of order execution, from order creation to shipment delivery.

Workflow B: Purchase & Supply Chain Flow

Handles procurement operations and supplier coordination for inbound logistics and restocking.

Flow: Purchase Requisition > Quote Order > Purchase Order > Container Tracking > Receiving > Inventory Update

Item OMS-V3 bridges integration, operations, and fulfillment, creating a unified environment for order lifecycle management. It connects data from multiple sources, enforces business rules during processing, and drives fulfillment through WMS—all while maintaining synchronization with external sales and supply chain systems.
