How to Work On a New Put Away Task

The put away task is the final step in the inbound process, where the offload items are moved to the designed storage area. Depending on the customer, this step may be merged with the Receive Task. The warehouse staff do not have to wait for the receive task to be completed before starting the put away task.
This article introduces some related parameters and the operation of put away task.

Put Away Switch Introduction

  1. Navigate to Settings(Foundation Data) Module > Organization, select the target user account then click Edit. Putaway1

  2. Go to Customer > Inbound > Put Away, it will list the all related parameters.

Here are some description for the parameters.

  • Skip Put Away On Receive:
    Whether to automatically generate the put away tasks.
    Value:
    Enable: It will not automatically generate a put away task.
    Disable:
    a. Receive Location = Storage Location, each receive task will automatically generate a put away task and assign to the assignee of receive task. It doesn’t allow to create a new put away task manually, if the put away task hasn’t been closed which is generated automatically.
    b. Receive Location ≠ Storage Location, Inventory will change to Available . It will not automatically generate put away task and not allow to create put away tasks manually. Please create a Inventory Movement Task if the items need to be places on other locations.

  • Enable Put Away Auditing:
    Whether to automatically generate put away auditing tasks.
    Value:
    Enable: Automatically generate put away auditing task when close a put away task.
    Disable: it doesn’t allow to automatically generate put away auditing tasks.

  • Scan %LP# When Put Away Auditing [0, 100]:
    Verified the percentage in put away auditing task.

    Note:
    The feature is only available when Enable Put Away Auditing is enabled.

  • Allow Manual PutAway By RN:
    Whether allow manual put away task by directly scanning RN.

Operations on WMS App

  1. Run Item WMS App and login with your account.
  2. The worker can create a new put away task for themselves or receive a new put away task to execute.
    a. For creating a new task, please go to More button > INBOUND Module > Put Away Task, then it will automatically generate a new task for you.
    b. For executing received new task, please go to Tasks > Put Away Task > New, select the target task you want to work on.
  3. Tap Start Put Away after confirming the all task information is correct.
  4. Tap Work tab and start to enter or scan location where the products need to be put away. Scan all of the pallets that need to be put away in this location.
  5. Tap SUBMIT button to save the location and pallet data. Then tap CLOSE STEP to complete the process.
  6. Go back to task homepage to tap CLOSE TASK to finish this task. Putaway3
