How to Create a New Organization
In the third-party logistics (3PL in short) business, clients stores their goods in the warehouse and rely on the warehouse system to handle inventory management, order fulfillment and shipment operations. This article introduces how to create new clients on Item WMS.

Navigate to Setting(Foundation Data) Module > Organization, the client name or customer is listed. If you want to search some specific clients, you can enter the tag or other fields such as keyword, status for quick searching.

Click Add Organization at the top right corner.

Fill in the basic information such as Name, Customer Code. For the customer code, you also need it when uploading your items or inventory.

Select the Tag on the right side, including Client, Title, Supplier, Retailer, etc.
Applying tags can make identifying and customer management much easier, you can select the corresponding tag for the customer. One organization can setup multiple tags according to the requirements.
For example, there are three customers: Customer A/B/C.
Client: Customer A stores goods on the warehouse and use Item WMS to manage the inventory and relevant operations. We can mark the new organization customer A as Client.
Supplier: Customer A purchase the goods from customer B, so that we can mark customer B as Supplier.
Retailer: Customer C will help customer A to sell some specific products, such as Laptop. So we can mark customer C as Retailer. -
Click Save button to save the customer’s information and complete adding.

Click OK button to close the popup. Then it will skip to the editing page, the page display advance mode as default. If you need to update or modify any information, please fill it out and click Update to save.
If you want to update some exists customer’s information, please return to Organization List page, then select target organization and click Edit button to update the information.
